Stages of treatment
YOUR CHILD’S PATH TO BEAUTIFUL TEETH
INITIAL CONSULTATION: WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU?
We start by asking why you are interested in dental adjustment for your child. On that basis, we assess the alignment of your child’s teeth and jaw before discussing the benefits and potential outcomes of any treatment. We also tell you what type of braces your child could use and how long treatment would take.
An initial check-up by an orthodontist for advisory purposes only costs €86.
DIAGNOSIS
During the second visit, the necessary findings are collected: X-rays (panoramic X-rays and teleradiographs), photos, medical history and 3D scans of the teeth in the upper and lower jaw. We also carry out a comprehensive clinical examination. Based on thorough analysis of these findings, we produce the ideal treatment plan for your child.
DISCUSSION OF THE TREATMENT PLAN
At your third visit, we explain the joint aims of treatment to you and your child and discuss the treatment plan we have compiled. At this visit to our surgery, we will usually fit or hand over the brace.
THERAPY
The brace will then be checked and reactivated at roughly six-week intervals. These regular checks are essential to ensure a successful treatment process: missed appointments will extend the duration of treatment! Good dental care, regular caries control and professional oral hygiene by a dentist ensure an effective process. We apply the very latest treatment concepts.
To offer patients the best possible quality, we work closely with reputable colleagues across a whole range of disciplines:
General dentistry
Myofunctional therapy
Physiotherapy

Maxillary surgery
STABILISATION AND AFTERCARE
To stabilise the teeth, we apply fixed retainers – internal, invisible wires in the anterior area – at the end of the treatment. As an alternative, night aligners may be used for stabilisation. We also recommend a yearly retention check-up at our surgery. For more details, refer to the Retention folder.
